Welcome to the Loyola School Web Site. Founded in 1900, Loyola School is an independent, coeducational, Jesuit high school—unique in the New York City area! A small school of approximately 200 students, Loyola provides an education that is marked by individual attention and by a close-knit, talented, and diverse community of students and parents, teachers and administrators, all collaborating in the education of “women and men for others.”
Loyola’s academic program provides a rigorous college preparatory curriculum, but a Loyola education goes beyond academic excellence. In the Jesuit tradition, Loyola places the highest value on the care and concern for the whole person—what the Jesuits call cura personalis. The Loyola curriculum provides opportunities for our students to grow intellectually, spiritually, physically, and emotionally, while challenging them to develop all of their God-given talents and to use those talents in generous service to others. A graduate of Loyola School is a young woman or young man who understands the value of life-long learning and who will continue to develop as a leader who is academically excellent, open to growth, religious, loving, and committed to doing justice.
We hope that you will find this web site informative, but we also realize that it is difficult to convey completely the wonderful spirit of Loyola School through the photographs and text you will find here. If you are considering Loyola, we strongly encourage you to make arrangements with the Admissions Office to learn about the school in person. It is difficult to enter Loyola without experiencing the warmth of our community, the dedication of our faculty, and the happiness of our students. Loyola is truly an outstanding community.
Thank you for your interest in Loyola School, and we look forward to seeing you at the corner of 83rd Street and Park Avenue.
Sincerely,
