“My experience with the Christian service program is one of the many elements of my Loyola education that I will carry forward in my life,” says Mathew Cullen ’07.

“I want to do something about the poverty and the injustice in the world,” says Elizabeth Petitti ’09, who also notes that the Jesuit concept of “cura personalis,” or care for the whole person, can be applied to social justice in today’s world. “Loyola really encourages students to be globally aware and open to experiences and cultures outside of your own.”

“The service programs at Loyola School really bring the world into perspective for us,” says William Healy ’08. “We’ve recently had guest lecturers on topics from civil rights to sweatshops. This summer I’m hoping to do a service project in Central America.”

Angela Li-A-Ping, parent of Janelle Li-A-Ping ’09, says that the Christian Service program at Loyola School has “made Janelle aware of the world beyond herself.”
