On March 12, the Loyola School community commemorated the canonization of Saint Ignatius Loyola and Saint Francis Xavier with an Ignatian Awareness Day program focused on the theme: "To Love and To Serve." Following junior Emily Miano's Grad at Grad reflection on becoming more loving, keynote speaker Fr. Ugo Nacciarone, SJ presided at Mass and shared his reflections on 40 years of ministry in Africa. Steve Ellis and James Ferus, two Jesuit Volunteer Corps members serving at Cristo Rey New York, shared their stories with smaller groups of students, as did a faculty panel comprised of Mr. James Neely and Mr. Adam Zaremberg. The program ended with small group reflections about the day and the ways in which students see themselves becoming more loving.
