During the long weekend of February 15-19, 2008, members of Loyola School's Outdoors Club traveled to Utah's Wasatch Mountain range for world-class skiing and snowboarding. This is the fifth year the Outdoors Club ventured out West for the skiing and riding trip, and the third time the club chose the destinations of Powder Mountain and Snowbasin. Powder Mountain boasts the largest ski terrain in the United States (5000 acres) and is typically ranked in the top ten nationally for its superior snow conditions. Snowbasin is famed for its hosting of numerous downhill events in the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics and for its first-rate facilities which include three gondolas. Experts in their own right, Loyola's Outdoors Club skiers and riders were hard to distinguish from accomplished Olympic competitors!
